About The Hotel

The Gulf of Chiriqui and Isla Palenque represent one of the world’s few remaining “undiscovered” places. With tens of thousands of acres of Central America’s unspoiled coastal and marine environments, there’s plenty to experience. The province of Chiriqui is located on Panama’s northwest side bordering Costa Rica and the Pacific Ocean. Between its peaks, valleys and rolling countryside, you’ll find the picturesque town of Boquete and the Baru Volcano, Panama’s tallest.

With only 8 luxury Beachfront Casitas on our 400-acre island, Isla Palenque is exclusive to a privileged few. Each luxury Beachfront Casita is tucked away in palm groves with a private path straight to the ocean and 1.3 km of pristine beachfront on Playa Palenque. Designed with indoor-outdoor living in mind, you’ll luxuriate in your open-air lounge area and bath, and have all the extravagances you’d expect from a five star, luxury hotel.

Sustainable Initiatives

Environmental Protection and Conservation

Isla Palenque has been developed with the highest standards in sustainability without sacrificing an ounce of island comfort. The resort utilized renewable materials for sustainable and low-impact construction as well as locally-sourced biodegradable products. The cusine is local and serves all-organic foods. The resort offers education for the local community. You can leave Your Mark on Isla Palenque by contributing to reforestation program by transplanting a primary rainforest seedling to an area of secondary growth. The team will provide all information related to a chosen tree and its role in the ecosystem, and make sure to nurture it for years to come. Isla Palenque partners with the Dock to Dish program to bring back the catch of the day. This means that they will receive deliveries of fresh and sustainably caught seafood from the fishermen right down the road in Boca Chica, and they’ll always be paid fairly for their hard work. Every month hotel's staff volunteers to help clean up Boca Chica’s public dock and beaches, the snorkeling and island hopping area of Bolaños and Gamez, and the surrounding town.
