Sustainable Initiatives

Environmental Responsibility

Each Oberoi Hotel has a dedicated Green Team that conceptualises and implements innovative ideas to conserve energy and protect the environment. Gardening and horticulture are an essential feature of all Oberoi Hotels. The use of natural fertilisers and treated waste from Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) and bio-pesticides has also been adopted. The hotel has implemented a sustainable approach to its landscaped design in order to create a habitat that integrates the construction into the existing natural environment. Recycling is actively practiced throughout the Resort, which alongside glass, cans and kitchen, applies to water recycling for irrigation and reuse of water in the laundry. A glass water-bottling system is in place to remove the requirement for disposable plastic water bottles, allowing the Resort to refrain from using any plastic bottles or straws. Soaps are recycled and given to charity and cleaning agents and washing detergents are bio-degradable. Bathroom amenities provided to guests are made of natural, botanical extracts and Indian herbs.
