As an environmentally conscious hotel, The Langham, London is committed to reducing its operating footprint. As part of its EarthCheck Platinum Status and wider sustainability strategy, Langham's employment priority is given to local and sustainably sourced food products. Non-recyclable waste is incinerated to create electricity for the National Grid, water is bottled In-house, 80% of paper used is eco-labelled or recycled, Food donations are made through Plan Zheroes - The Zero Food Waste Heroes.

Social Responsibility

Langham's annual community programme enables staff to give back to the local community, through a slew of fundraising and volunteering opportunities. There, the staff uses their expertise to conduct cookery classes, help with maintenance, or assist in big charity events. GOSH is one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals, caring for hundreds of children every day. The charity raises funds to help give hope to seriously ill children and their families. The Langham family supports GOSH through fundraising events, including bucket collections at stations and also participates and volunteers at the annual Race for Kids 5-km family fun run. KIDS enables children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities to enjoy their lives and achieve their ambitions. At the same time, the charity provides support and guidance to families. The Langham family supports this charity through volunteering projects. The hotel team is holding cooking or art classes to teach skills, and help to clean and maintain playgrounds and accommodations.
