Constructed in 1922, and protected as a National Historic Landmark, this Italianate, granite-built former Federal Reserve Bank of Boston retains many historic details, including N.C. Wyeth murals.

The Langham, Boston values the importance of preserving indigenous community and vulnerable environment for future generations by operating the hotel responsibly. This property partners with the EarthCheck Program, which provides credible third party validation and certification services on hotel's environmental performance. The hotel minimizes its use of natural resources, air emissions, and hazardous materials, and monitors and records environmental performance with a continuous commitment to improved practices. Throughout the property the hotel has implemented low voltage lighting and an extensive composting program. Plastic straws and plastic shopping bags have been eliminated from the property and the hotel is working with the suppliers to reduce excess packaging. The hotel is using eco-certified cleaning products and has banned single-use products.
