About The Hotel

Six Senses Rome enjoys the most desirable location right on Piazza di San Marcello, Via del Corso, steps away from all major historical landmarks including the Trevi Fountain and Pantheon and within walking distance of the prominent luxury shopping streets of Via Condotti, Frattina, and Borgognona. Fiumicino Leonardo Da Vinci Airport is a 45-minute drive away.

In the 96 guest rooms and suites, the use of traditional cocciopesto plaster and Travertine limestone, the patterns, and the graphic design elements combine with suspended plants and natural light, focusing on well-being and a sense of conviviality and sustainability.

Six Senses Spa also reinterprets the themes of classicism and contact with nature, from the mosaic of Daphne's laurel tree to the biophilic features and locally sourced and organic spa products.

Sustainable architecture

Palazzo Salviati Cesi Mellini, which Six Senses Rome calls its home, is a historical building dating back as far as the 15th century which underwent further developments over the following two centuries and is named after the prominent families who once lived within its walls. The main façade, which overlooks Via del Corso, and the central staircase have been restored back to their grand origins. Located within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Historic Center of Rome, this expertly restored building also aims for the LEED Gold certification for sustainable design and construction, using the highest possible energy and water efficiency. The hotel is supplied with 100 percent green power. Various historical architectural layers are preserved throughout the building, for example, the 1,300-year-old baptism site dating from the 8th century that can be seen from the ground floor. Hotel's spa recreates a traditional Roman bath with warm and chilled chambers, the walls of room interiors are plastered using a traditional material from ancient Roman times without plastic or industrial chemicals. Food waste is composted using a machine in the basement, then brought upstairs to feed the lush rooftop gardens, where preservation of food culture and biodiversity go hand-in-hand with the cultivation of rare and traditional Roman plant varieties.

Culture and Conservation

Since 2021, Six Senses Rome has been sponsoring restoration works on the church's façade in an ongoing effort to support the preservation of Rome's priceless cultural legacy. Renovation works have removed pollution, dust, and moss that have developed on the surface since the last renovation, bringing this work of art back to its former glory. Guests are welcome to view artifacts inside the church during public hours. Plastic-free commitment extends to hotel's community, Six Senses Rome has partnered with a local water supplier who collects, sterilizes, and refills the glass bottles provided, eliminating the need for plastic bottles. Shorter supply chains mean a reduced carbon footprint and support for local businesses. Resort's aim is to integrate with the fabric of downtown Rome and provide the perfect vantage point to explore the fantastic history and thriving culture this city has to offer.
