About The Hotel

Shinta Mani Angkor enjoys a quiet and leafy setting within the French Quarter of Siem Reap – just a 15 minute by tuk tuk from the UNESCO World Heritage Temples of Angkor Wat.

With friendly residents, numerous dining options, eclectic shops, local and international artists and designers, and a relaxed town atmosphere, Siem Reap is re-emerging as a destination with its own charm.

Bangkok-based American designer Bill Bensley created spaces that are serene and minimalist yet theatrical, with rectangular columns, recessed doorways, and other dramatic features inspired by the architecture of Angkor. Rooms are in a palette of black, gray, and white, offset by splashes of orange reminiscent of Cambodian monks’ robes.

Sustainable Initiatives

Social Responsibility

Cambodia has one of the largest populations of unskilled youth in all of South-East Asia. To address this situation, The Shinta Mani Foundation is assisting young people in the Siem Reap community by providing them with the skills to obtain meaningful employment to support themselves and their families. Students generally come from disadvantaged backgrounds, and all students are selected based on their desire to learn and improve their skills. The Shinta Mani Foundation also supports Cambodian doctors and visiting medical professionals to provide medical and dental check-ups in rural areas of the country.

Environmentally Conscious

Through a partnership with the World Vegetable Center and USAID, The Shinta Mani Foundation has established an experimental farm to test more hardy varieties of traditional Khmer crops. The hotel minimizes its use of natural resources, air emissions, and hazardous materials, and monitors and records environmental performance with a continuous commitment to improved practices. Throughout the property the hotel has implemented low voltage lighting and an extensive composting program. Plastic straws and plastic shopping bags have been eliminated from the property and the hotel is working with the suppliers to reduce excess packaging. The hotel is using eco-certified cleaning products and has banned single-use products.
