Sustainable Initiatives

Environmental Responsibility

This world-class resort bridges ultra-luxury with sustainability, resulting in an offering that seeks to give back directly to its surroundings - from decreasing the carbon footprint of the resort’s dining and spa offerings by sourcing local ingredients, to investing in infrastructure that protects the nearby marine environment. Behind the scenes, sustainability efforts remain at the forefront with engineering of property infrastructure created with preservation and conservation in mind. The property management systems use technology whenever possible to better regulate the use of resources. Use of an Ozone machine in both of the resort’s swimming pools helps to lower water usage and reduce emission of chemicals into the water table. Across the property, timers are installed on fans and mechanical equipment to help reduce electricity usage.

Farm to table

Rosewood's commitment to reducing the dining operations’ footprint by sourcing locally comes from a deep passion that the culinary team, led by Executive Chef Massimo Falsini, has for highlighting local ingredients. Across dining offerings, Chef Massimo aims to source ingredients from local farmers, foragers, and fishermen whenever possible. The resort has also been formally celebrated for these efforts receiving numerous industry recognitions including the James Beard Foundation’s “Smart Catch” seafood program that honors chefs and restaurants committed to serving seafood fished or farmed in environmentally responsible ways. The property’s efforts to source sustainable seafood have also earned Caruso’s, The Revere Room, and the property’s in-room dining recognition as both an Ocean Wise and FishChoice partner. The dining operations are also supported by Chef Massimo’s on property garden that helps provide produce and the resort’s resident beehive that produces honey for the restaurants and spa.
