About The Hotel

Opened in 1887, Raffles Singapore is one of the few remaining great 19th century hotels in the world. The newly restored Raffles Singapore is situated in the heart of the business and civic district. A veritable oasis in the city, its classic colonial architecture has been perfectly preserved and provides a stark but lively contrast against its modern-skyscraper neighbours. Raffles Gift Shop has made its return to Raffles Arcade as the new Raffles Boutique. Located in the heart of Singapore's business and civic district, just 20 minutes from Changi Airport and a two-minute ride on the Mass Rapid Transit from the bustling Orchard Road shopping strip, Raffles Singapore is within walking distance to Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre – Suntec - and Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay.

Sustainable Initiatives

Environmental Responsibility

In celebration of the inaugural Singapore Sling Day on 27 June, Raffles Hotel Singapore and ecoSPIRITS have announced the results of a sustainability review of the iconic Singapore Sling. In collaboration with Proof & Company and ecoSPIRITS, the Singapore Sling was revitalised in 2018 by Raffles Hotel Singapore as part of the reopening of the hotel after a two-year renovation. By using the patent-pending ecoSPIRITS technology and taking other steps to reduce waste, each new Singapore Sling saves the equivalent of 200g of C02 emissions per serve and contributes to the planting of native trees in the endangered rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra, Indonesia. Recycling is actively practiced throughout the Resort - waste collection is converted off-site into biogas for renewable energy production and compost for agriculture. A glass water-bottling system is in place to remove the requirement for disposable plastic water bottles, allowing the Resort to refrain from using any plastic bottles or straws. The approach to minimising plastic is also seen through use of refillable ceramic containers for bathroom amenities and eco-friendly garbage bags.
