Environmental Protection and Conservation

Origins Lodge’s core values focus on sustainability and environment protection, as part of the integral philosophy and the team´s commitment to building healthy communities by understanding and embracing the co-existence with nature including fauna, insects, reptiles, and birds, among others. Each year, the team plants approximately 500 native double or triple-purpose trees. ORIGINS Lodge has partnered with “Planta mi Arbol,” a Costa Rican Foundation devoted to reforesting specific areas throughout the country. Guests can participate in their program by buying different tree packages and maintaining a balance between the carbon footprint and ways to contribute to the negative impact while traveling. 25 Meliponias beehives are present on the property. ORIGINS Lodge features an exceptional organic garden - vegetables, fruits, and herbs are planted in 100% organic soil in the property´s garden. The hotel is plastic-free. The property also has its own waste management and recycling program. Organic bath amenities are made on-site from the Ylang-Ylang trees at the property. Solar water tanks are placed in each room - there is no air conditioning and the property uses LED lights to reduce the carbon footprint.
