The magnificent lodge sits atop the banks of the Hoarusib Riverbed and is an impeccably appointed base for your adventures, which include desert game drives with local guides, tracking black rhinos on foot, exploring the phenomenal clay castles and sipping sundowners as the sun sets over the dunes.

Encounter desert-adapted elephants, giraffes and lions - and meet local tribes people. Exclusive lodge has just seven well-appointed cabins, with four-poster beds and private terraces. Enjoy delicious food and drink in extraordinary locations: brunch in the bush, sundowners on the dunes or picnic lunch in the Hoarusib Valley.

Environmental Responsibility

Okahirongo Elephant Lodge is protecting and restoring land for the benefit of people and wildlife by taking care of biodiversity both in the broader reserves and within the grounds. Using water efficiently, protecting local water resources and reducing flooding and drought, Okahirongo Elephant Lodge strives to monitor the health of the water sources and be as efficient as possible with water use. Promoting sustainable humane farming and healthy diets high in local, seasonal organic food and vegetable protein. The lodge is seeking to be as efficient as possible by reducing fuel consumption and are striving to use materials for construction and operations that are local and environmentally friendly. The reserve works on reducing consumption, reusing and recycling as to achieve zero waste and zero pollution by maximising recycling with minimal waste to landfill.
