Sustainable Initiatives

Community Empowerment

With guests' support &Beyond and Africa Foundation have completed a water supply for the Gogomoga and Tsutsubega Community by drilling the boreholes. From November to March, during the Delta’s dry season when many of the water channels dry up, these communities have been restricted to muddy pools of dirty water that they’ve been forced to share with wildlife. Within the lodge's Safari Shop, guests can find a range of quality, handpicked eco souvenirs and clothes that showcase the very best of Botswana. A portion of your purchase will support local community or conservation initiatives. Don't leave without stunning hand-woven baskets, or intricate handcrafted Bushman décor.

Environmental Conservation

Nxabega lodge has installed the first solar power plant in the Delta at &Beyond Sandibe in 2018, to using a solar photovoltaic (PV) hybrid system, with Tesla Powerpack Battery Energy Storage System technology. Following the installation, 80% of the lodge’s extensive energy requirements is now coming from the solar energy. With audits, heating systems, water bottling plants, wastewater management - Nxabega is committed in reducing their carbon footprint.
