About The Hotel

Each spacious tent is on stilts to maximize the stunning vistas and leave a minimal footprint. The experience can be secluded and romantic for couples, or fun and relaxing for the whole family. Inspired by African safaris but conceived in the tropical Costa Rican rainforest, the tents are a mix of sustainable luxury with a “Pura Vida” vibe. If a soothing soak is a staple in your self-care routine, prepare to swoon over the tub. If an outdoor shower with the stars is your thing, you will have the experience of a lifetime. Nayara Tented Camp is the perfect place to reset and recharge, far from civilization and close to nature.

Perched on a hill overlooking the rainforest, Family Tents afford residents absolute privacy and connection with the scenery. Perfect for friends traveling together or families looking for a nature escape, the two tents are connected and centered around an outdoor living space and an oversized plunge pool fed by natural hot springs. Reconnect with nature and find a new way to experience Costa Rica with family and friends.

Traverse hanging bridges and trek over dry lava fields to examine pristine rainforests. Discover waterfalls and crystal blue rivers, and soak in hot springs. Stand in the shadows of huge trees, the centuries-old guardians of the forest. Costa Rica is home to over 900 bird species, and Arenal has plenty of tanagers, hummingbirds, toucans, and oropendolas. The birds, multi-colored frogs and amphibians, volcano craters, and exotic plants all make for a unique region to explore on foot. Learn about coffee cultivation as you visit a plantation, and taste delicious hot chocolate freshly made with organic cacao. Discover the rainforest and the different species of plants and animals while you float along the many hectares of the jungle of the Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge. Visit The Proyecto Asis, where rescued animals are taken care of. Discover the arts and crafts of the Maleko indigenous population with an organized visit to a Maleko village.

Sustainable Initiatives

Environmental Conservation and Social Responsibility

Nayara's mission is to preserve and grow tropical rainforest, providing a safe habitat that can support a healthy sloth population. As they continue reforestation effort, tropical rainforests are welcoming more sloths, monkeys, butterflies and birds. Reforestation is the most important action taken by the hotel - by planting new trees Nayara was able to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases in the air, benefiting the local climate. Most importantly, as those new trees grow, they help rebuild endangered habitats. Loss of habitats is the leading threat to the survival of animal species. The hotel has an extensive collection of tropical plants including palms, cycads, flowering trees, and vines. The team works with local organizations to manage excess waste as a result of daily operations by recycling and composting. Nayara is working on becoming a single-use plastic free resort and has replaced plastic water bottles with glass reusable bottles. The majority of the team comes from the neighboring town of La Fortuna de San Carlos. Nayara offers free transportation, sustainable tourism education and health services to all its employees. Some of additional local initiatives include free early education for employees’ children, volunteer time, and financial support to Hogarcito de Ninos, a local orphanage.
