Sustainable Initiatives

Environmentally Responsible

Kudadoo prides itself on a range of undertakings that establish it as one of the Maldives’ most sustainable resorts. Keeping the health of the precious natural environment, Kudadoo is an eco-hideaway where luxury and nature prominently complement each other. The resort supplies glass-bottled drinking water from a plant on a nearby sister property. Whenever possible, fish and seafood is caught locally from suppliers that use sustainable practices such as line fishing, which ensures there is no bycatch. Kudadoo has also partnered with Healing Earth, a recognized leader adept at green amenities tailored to the unique needs of luxury destinations across the globe, in the creation of two bespoke collections of biodegradable lifestyle amenities containing bio ingredients, organic essential oils and fair-trade botanicals. Kudadoo is a fully solar-powered resort. The retreat's roof incorporates 984 solar panels that span an area of 1643m2 and can produce 575MWh of power annually and generate a peak power of 320kWp, enabling Kudadoo to be purely powered by the sun.

Animal conservation

As an extension of the partnership between Hurawalhi Maldives and Manta Trust, the world's leading manta rays research and conservation organization, Kudadoo is committed to supporting sustainable diving and snorkeling practices, contributing to research and educating residents and team members about the magnificent manta rays. A marine biologist is on site to ensure an insightful experience. Working together with Olive Ridley project, Kudadoo is also contributing to research and protection of resident sea turtles, allowing the guests to observe them in their natural habitat
