About The Hotel

Situated on the only concession that borders on both the Serengeti and the Masai Mara national parks, &Beyond Klein’s Camp offers some of the best panoramic views of these two iconic destinations, which also play host to one of the greatest wildlife migrations on earth. Perched on the edge of the Kuka Hills, this camp boasts magnificent views of wild Africa, an exquisite landscape of wooded hillsides, rolling grasslands and forested river banks, all teeming with the rich wildlife.

andBeyond Klein’s Camp consists of just ten intimate cottages made of local stone and makuti thatch, with rich wooden floors and classic interiors. Each cottage has an ensuite bathroom and private veranda, where guests can marvel at extraordinary views down the valley while sipping on your favourite drink from your personal bar.

Many of the &Beyond Klein’s Camp staff are Maasai and over 90% of hail from the surrounding communities. For those with a deep interest in the Maasai traditions and ancient way of living, you can visit an authentic boma or take the opportunity to visit a local community, schools and clinic, understanding the real challenges and success of contemporary Maasai life.

Sustainable Initiatives

Community Empowerment

In collaboration with Africa Foundation, Klein Camp's long-standing community and conservation development partner, the lodge is investing in schools and clinics construction and maintenance. The Moya and Moyoka Primary Schools, both supported by Africa Foundation through the generous funding of donors like the Tara and Aileen Getty Foundations, are currently educating over 1 300 students. These schools are situated just 5 km apart, and serve the two communities. The rural communities of Moya and Mayoka can be found close to Lake Manyara in Tanzania. They have a combined population of 979 households or approximately 5 500 people. Many of the &Beyond Klein’s Camp staff are Maasai and over 90% of hail from the surrounding communities. Guests with a deep interest in the Maasai traditions and ancient way of living, can visit an authentic boma or take the opportunity to visit a local community, schools and clinic, understanding the real challenges and success of contemporary Maasai life.

Environmental Protection and Conservation

Klein's Camp has eliminated the use of plastic water bottles. In addition, on-site water bottling plants have eliminated tens of thousands of plastic bottles, and translated into significant water savings. Fresh vegetables picked from the camp’s shamba, or organic African vegetable garden are used to create wholesome dishes. The shamba is about a 20 minute drive from the camp.
