Environmental Responsibility

Wherever possible, Villa Honegg sources ingredients from the local producers in the region or the on-site organic garden. Hotel's garden features different varieties of beetroot, herbs, apples and berries. Hof Murmatt farm, like the Villa Honegg, is in Canton Nidwalden and supplies the hotel with garden produce from the Pro Specie Rara foundation. The von Holzen family's organic artichokes are a particular favourite at the Boutique Hotel Villa Honegg. Guests are welcome to visit the orchard and herb garden and pick the ripe berries and apples. The hotel is proud of the Hotel Villa Honegg honey, which is produced in partnership with an experienced beekeeper. The bees are kept on the premises and contribute to the Honegg's ecosystem. The honey is included as an ingredient in menues and beverages - jars are available for sale at the reception desk. Hotel is colaborating with Stalder - whose meat comes from animals farmed in Canton Nidwalden, while the herbs they use grow in their own family garden. Milk and cheese specalties are sourced by a young local team Molki.
