About The Hotel

Hotel de la Coupole is a hidden jewel of high-end design and sophistication situated among the mountaintops of the beautiful and secluded Vietnamese mountain town of Sapa. On arrival, intrepid travellers will be rewarded not only by the unspoilt natural beauty of Sapa itself, but also by the unique hotel which is truly a feast for the senses. Created by world-renowned designer Bill Bensley, every element of the hotel has been designed to pay homage to Sapa’s fascinating past during the 1920s and ‘30s French Indochine era as well as taking inspiration from Sapa itself – from its vibrant green rice paddies to its colourful tribal clothes.

Guests of the hotel will be transported to another world of grandeur and glamour where rich colors and textures inspired by the minority tribes of Sapa merge with elegant French haute couture inspired furniture, tribal crafts and paintings. The striking interiors and vibrant surroundings combine antiques, vintage items, trinkets and ethnic motifs to bring a flamboyant yet sophisticated feel throughout the hotel. Sweeping views of Sapa valley can be admired through large windows, or from walkways, terraces and balconies, providing an unforgettable backdrop to a truly memorable stay.

Surrounded by the region's iconic rice paddies, the hotel is the town's only international 5-star hotel and provides 249 luxurious uniquely decorated rooms and suites, signature restaurants and rooftop bar, a tranquil wellbeing spa, and banqueting venues for bespoke destination meetings and events.

Social Responsibility

Hotel de la Coupole – MGallery Sapa is part of Accor CSR program, Planet21. Having the mindset of giving back to the community, Hotel de la Coupole aims to provide memorable experiences for all guests through daily sustainable solutions. Since the opening in 2018, the hotel has participated directly and proactively in protecting our environment and the development of local communities by donating to disadvantaged households – an initiative which sets out to contribute to the development of the local community by offering two female water buffaloes to the two underprivileged families in Lao Cai. The hotel is also partnering with ‘Bagged With Love’ – a campaign to support children in need by selling customised merchandise with imprinted patterns drawn by young autistic artists.

Environmental Protection

The hotel minimizes its use of natural resources, air emissions, and hazardous materials, and monitors and records environmental performance with a continuous commitment to improved practices. Throughout the property the hotel has implemented low voltage lighting and an extensive composting program. Plastic straws and plastic shopping bags have been eliminated from the property and the hotel is working with the suppliers to reduce excess packaging. The hotel is using eco-certified cleaning products and has banned single-use products.
