About The Hotel

Set between the tranquil lagoon and the Mayan jungle, Habitas Bacalar is an intimate hideaway where art and nature beautifully entwine. Lagoon A-frame tented rooms overlook seven shades of blue, with spacious earth-inspired interiors. Wake up to a myriad of hues as you relax and recharge by the shore.

Guest can take a walk through the hotel's botanical garden and learn about medicinal aromatic herbs or visit cacao and melipona honey huts where they can be immersed in the local traditions and practices of Mayan culture.

Environmental Responsibility

Habitas is committed to fulfilling the United Nation’s Sustainability Development Goals for 2030. Construction methodology minimizes the environmental impact with modular construction allowing to build in an efficient way without compromising design integrity and guest experience. The resort is committed to eliminating single-use plastic throughout all resorts and have been awarded the Oceanic Champion Badge for adopting The Oceanic Standard. The team works with local organizations to manage excess waste as a result of daily operations by recycling and composting and has partnered with Cooperativo Ambio’s Scolel’te Program, supporting reforestation from proceeds from concerts and screenings. This initiative offsets carbon emissions from resort's operations.
