About The Hotel

Astounding natural beauty, sweeping landscapes, exciting cuisine and vibrant culture marks Cape Town as one of the world’s most magnificent cities. Each one of the uniquely designed rooms have been inspired by the charm and wonder of South African and Cape heritage, inviting travellers to discover and connect with the history and culture of our fascinating region.

Ship manifests, rare Cape Dutch antiques and local artwork renditions of hotel's botanical kingdom have been sourced piece by piece to create a tapestry of depth, texture and contemporary style. In cool hues of blue, warm shades of red and rich tones of green and gold, each of the 120 guest rooms and suites is completely unique and has its own “story” – the focal point from which the rest of the design elements flow. Deluxe amenities and personalised touches complete our guests’ comfort and enhance their experience.

Sustainable Initiatives

Social Responsibility

Cape Grace Hotel supports SOS Village South Africa - a part of a global federation working to protect and care for vulnerable children. Cape Grace also supports one of the houses in the Thornton SOS Village, where staff members are also encouraged to get involved. Uthando South Africa is an organisation that works with and supports a collection of independent, inspiring community development projects and charitable institutions across a broad spectrum of sectors. Cape Grace currently supports two of these initiatives - MYAP (Masizakhe Youth Art Project) was established to support the youth especially in disadvantaged areas. The project seeks to develop young people’s innate talents in dance, drama, poetry, singing and literature. And Eziko - a community-based project located in Langa, and acts as an entry-level skills provider in catering and hospitality. Cape Grace supports Eziko by offering internship programmes in hotel's kitchen for their top students. Christel House is an International Education-based NON- Profit Organisation with the mission to break the cycle of poverty and build self-sufficient, contributing members of society. The school provides education from Grade R–12 with a strong focus on character development, which is supported by regular healthcare, nutritious meals, guidance counselling, career planning, family assistance, college and career support.

Environmental Protection

Throughout the operation, Cape Grace ensures optimal energy efficiencies, by implementing energy light bulbs or LED lights. Kitchen oil is transformed into biodiesel and our on-site waste-sorting area minimises dumping and landfill contributions. Disused hardware is donated to an E-waste company and environmentally sensitive bulbs and batteries are disposed of responsibly. Hotel's swimming pool has been treated with an oil-based liquid called Heatsavr, a liquid pool blanket which is non-toxic and non-harmful to the environment. It acts as a natural oil insulation, minimising evaporation. Cape Grace has installed a ‘Water from Air’ machine – an innovative device which has been designed to produce potable drinking water from the surrounding atmosphere. This high performance unit is a convenient means of providing pure drinking water of the highest quality and taste.
