About The Hotel

The timeless beauty of an oasis conceived in 1272 conserves the ancient splendor, thanks to a rigorous architectural project, which bestows unique value to the structure through a union of details and materials inspired by the local territory. Situated in a privileged position, the “Contemporary Art District”, Arsenale, Ca’ di Dio relishes in the cultural and artistic allure of the Biennale—one of the most prestigious international Art and Architecture exhibitions. A place linked to the paths of art and architecture, the setting is far enough from the tourist hustle and bustle, but just as close to the heart of the city with St Mark’s Square within walking distance.

For the creation of decorative, architectural and lighting elements, small local artisan companies were selected to guarantee a strong link with a territory that offers incredible products such as those made in the LP Glass Factory in Murano where each chandelier is entirely made “by mouth” by skilled master craftsmen without the aid of molds and machinery. In the rooms, it is, therefore, possible to admire these unique pieces specially made to a design by Studio Urquiola as well as in the hall we will find unique furnishings provided by Aprojects finely selected and perfectly integrated with the spaces.

Sustainable Initiatives

Environmental and Social Responsibility

Sustainability was a top priority in Ca' di Dio's design, led by renowned Spanish architect Patricia Urquiola, and the hotel invested in several facilities and systems that limit its environmental impact. The hotel uses lagoon water in innovative ways to save heat and water. These measures are estimated to save 20% of energy, and eliminate roughly 110 tons of CO2 emissions per year. Respect for the city and its people is also at the forefront of the hotel's ethos. The hotel collaborates with Malefatte Venezia, a fashion brand that helps reintegrate prisoners into society. Together with Ca' di Dio, the brand has created sustainable gifts, such as organic cotton T-shirts, bags recycled from posters, and notebooks covered with wallpaper left over from the hotel rooms. In addition, the hotel staff wear shoes by the Veneto-based company Dress to Live, which are made from waste such as fishing nets, fabric scraps and industrial plastic.
