Environmental Protection and Conservation

Laguna Lang Co retains its Gold Certification from EarthCheck for 2022, reaffirming Laguna Golf Lang Co‘s status as one of Asia’s most sustainability-minded golf courses and one of only three golf courses in the world to achieve EarthCheck Golf certification. This eco-friendly resort has implemented various innovative programs to reduce its environmental impact. These include banning single-use plastics and installing its own water bottling plant to eliminate plastic water bottles entirely, allowing guests to take advantage of reusable glass bottles provided by the resort. Cultivating an ‘edible golf course’ with rice fields tended to by water buffaloes is an innovative initiative of Laguna Lang Co. This eco-friendly program helps to preserve biodiversity within the area and also provides sustainable livelihoods for local farmers who are employed to tend to the fields. Other eco-friendly measures taken by the resort include a tree-planting program that increases tree density on formerly unused land and provides a source of income to underprivileged local communities. The specie Melaleuca quinquenervia is efficient in oil production and brings higher economic returns than traditional indigenous tree varieties.

Community Empowerment

Additional programs feeding into the EarthCheck accolade include trash collecting activities, sponsorship of underprivileged youths through the resort’s Seedlings Mentorship Program, and sustainability workshops in local communities conducted by Laguna Lang Co Sustainability Officers. Beyond the sustainable practices it implements, this eco-friendly resort in Vietnam also encourages sustainable actions through its ‘Greater Good Grant‘ initiative. The program offers financial support to eco-projects across Vietnam. With the initiative ongoing, the resort is encouraging applicants to come forward and take advantage of financial support that will help them build a better future.
