About The Hotel

&Beyond Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp is situated on the western border of the game rich, Masai Mara National Reserve, in the Mara Triangle – the most productive part of the Mara ecosystem. The Masai Mara combines some of the richest Big Five viewing on the planet and is home to lion prides, leopard and elephant parades. In migration season, vast herds of wildebeest stretch as far as the eye can see, and with the diverse eco-systems comes a variety of bird life.

The camp is set on a private concession. In addition to the excellent year-round concentration of wildlife, access to the concession allows for bush walks, night drives and bush dining under a starry sky.

Wholesome, organic menus incorporate and celebrate the seasonal bounty of the lodge’s vegetable garden. The interactive kitchen is allowing guests to see their meals being prepared from garden to table.

Sustainable Initiatives

Environmental and Social Responsibility

Designed to limit impact, all hot water in the camp is heated through a solar water system. Camp has eliminated the use of plastic water bottles saving over 56,000 plastic bottles annually. Fresh vegetables picked from the camp’s garden, or organic African vegetable garden are used to create wholesome dishes. In collaboration with Africa Foundation, Kichwa Tembo's long-standing community and conservation development partner, the lodge is investing in schools and healthcare construction and maintenance.
