Environmental and Social Responsibility

Hyatt is committed to advancing responsible sourcing of products and services in order to address impact areas such as climate change, deforestation, human rights, waste, public health, resource scarcity, biodiversity and animal welfare. The group prioritizes collaboration with suppliers that share values and commitment to responsible business practices, and work closely together to identify more sustainable options whenever possible. The group is committed to climate action and have set science-based targets to reduce our greenhouse gas footprint. Hyatt corporate offices and hotels take a variety of approaches to manage emissions, energy and water, which consider building type and age, climate, layout and local infrastructure, among other factors. Through the nonprofit’s youth employment program, Hyatt supports trainees to gain employability skills and practical experience to start their careers. Hyatt has participated in the youth employment program since 2008 and is currently employing participants in the Indian cities of Delhi, Kochi, Kolkata and Mumbai.
